Helix Express 1.0.1 Installation Instructions
Helix Express Update Package A

This patch works with Helix Express Part 1 files created on September 22, 1992. See the Read Me First document for details.

Before you begin
You will need the following items to proceed with the installation:

•Helix Express 1.0.0 disks 1-4
•Stickers containing Serial Numbers and Enablement Keys for your software
	(You received these stickers when you purchased Helix Express)

Turn off Virus Detection Software
Before applying the patches, turn off all virus detection software.

The patch utility will trigger most virus detection tools. In some circumstances this could cause problems with the updated software. If that occurs, you can run through this procedure again (with virus detection software turned off) to fresh copies of Helix Express 1.0.0.

Copy Helix Express 1.0.0 Files
The patches must be applied to copies of the original files on your Helix Express disks.
 
Locate your original Helix Express 1.0.0 disks and copy the following files onto your hard drive.
	Helix Express Part 1
	Helix Express Part 2
	Helix Utility
	Update Collection

When you finish copying, do not launch any of the applications or enter any serial numbers or enablement keys.

Apply the Patches
Click on the Copy button to copy this text to the clipboard. Click on the Patch button to begin applying the patches. A dialogue opens asking you to select Helix Express Part 1. The dialogue will only display Helix Express Part 1 files.

Select the file and click on the Patch button. A thermometer bar appears indicating that the patch is being applied. This sequence repeats for Helix Express Part 2, Helix Utility, and Update Collection. When finished, a dialogue opens confirming that the patch was applied successfully.

If an Error Occurs
If you see an error message, you are probably applying the wrong patch to your copy of Helix Express. The Read Me First document describes how to identify which version of Helix Express you own and describes the patch package you need for each version (A or B). Please refer to this document and make sure you are using the correct patch package.

Finish the Installation
Helix Express 1.0.1 uses the same serial numbers and enablement keys as Helix Express 1.0.0. The installation process is also the same. Just launch Helix Express Part 1 and enter your serial number, enablement keLnd personal information.

TIP—If you know your registration number, enter it along with your name. When you call for Technical Support, you can easily locate your registration number by selecting “About Helix Express…” from the Apple Menu.

Use the Update Collection Utility to update older collections to Helix Express 1.0.1 and to check collections for structure damage. Use the Helix Utility to check collections for data damage.
